Leyva and Eric V turn up the Miami heat with their latest collaboration “Fiera,” featuring powerhouse vocalist Kristen Knight. Releasing on November 28 via Roger Sanchez’s respected label Undr The Radr, the track is a vibrant celebration of Miami’s Latin roots blended with modern electronic energy.
The story of “Fiera” began over two years ago when Leyva and Eric V first shaped the record as part of an ongoing creative partnership, in which Leyva was mentoring Eric V through production. What started as a simple studio experiment slowly grew into something much bigger-a track built on pure chemistry and shared passion.
Once the beat and arrangement finally clicked, Leyva called longtime friend Kristen Knight, a fellow Cuban-American vocalist he has known for over a decade. She understood the assignment immediately, delivering emotional fire and attitude to the track.
“Fiera” doesn’t just sound like Miami – it feels like Miami. Not the polished tourist version, but the raw, pulsing heartbeat of the Saguesera: Kendall, Little Havana, Westchester, Sweetwater. These are neighborhoods where Latin culture thrives, where music spills out of every door, and people hustle with pride. That spirit is captured in the Cuban percussion driving the record – timbales, repeniques, surdos, agogos—layered with electronic drums, Moog bass hits, and acid-tinged 303s. Once the horns come in, warm and dynamic like a live street performance, you immediately know the track is something special.
Then Kristen Knight enters. Her voice is rich, expressive, and impossible to ignore as she tells the story of a fierce young Latina artist determined to chase her dreams. “Ella es una fiera de la Saguesera” – she’s bold, confident, ambitious, and unstoppable.
