Whisnu Santika begins a new chapter within his emotive sound with his latest single offering, “I’ll Be Yours,” an impressive collaboration with regular collaborator Rey Putra and young Indonesian singer-songwriter Cosmo Kent.
Released today, it comes at a perfect time, as Whisnu Santika will soon be taking stage at the highly anticipated Djakarta Warehouse Project 2025.
Whisnu, celebrated for his highly dynamic and baile funk-inspired sound and as a core figure in Indonesian Bounce, uses this single as an opportunity to display more storytelling-driven and vulnerable sides of his artistic expression. Whisnu’s collaboration with Rey Putra has already provided followers with some unforgettable experiences, ranging from bouncy and highly explosive tracks like ‘J-Town’ to creative mashups for ‘Die With A Smile’ from Bruno Mars, ‘Move’ from Adam Port, and ‘Freed From Desire’ from Gala. The song progresses like an end-of-the-world love affair — two people who were once inseparable and are now living on opposite sides of the world finding a way to reconnect at the end. Rather than dwelling on what they could have done or changed about the past, they have opted to live love once before it all ends. The lyrics include “Hold you more before we go, I’ll be yours, evermore,” and it captures the essence of surrender and urgency as it highlights that in times of crises, people will always turn to the ones they love.
