Angara step into a bold new era as they join Embassy One with their stunning debut single Out at Sea, featuring the soulful Austrian vocalist Ren Ocean.
This is a major creative milestone for this rising French duo and the opening salvo in an expansive new chapter of their artistic journey.
Out at Sea stitches cinematic production with a glowing melodic veneer and Ren Ocean’s emotionally charged vocal delivery into something that feels at once intimate and widescreen. Built upon hypnotic percussion and fluid synth work, the track nails the push-and-pull between longing and liberation. Ocean’s returning refrain-“I don’t wanna settle down”-is a quiet anthem for wandering hearts, while the soaring chorus “Your star shines brightly over me” hoists the song upward in a celestial, shimmering moment of release.
The lyrics play out like a tide: an odyssey across feeling, memory, and motion. By the time Ocean sings, “Won’t you come there with me / Take you on this odyssey,” the track swells with emotional momentum, stitching dancefloor energy into cinematic storytelling.
Explaining the inspiration, Angara say:
“‘Out At Sea’ is about the memory of that first love, that first real connection you never truly forget. It’s this feeling that once guided you but slowly drifted into something new, floating in a sea of possibilities.
Lifelong friends Quentin and Loris combine under the name Angara to forge a musical identity as purveyors of emotive, melody-led electronic music. Since the breakthrough Rwanda EP on Monstercat Silk in 2021, they have garnered over 70 million streams and toured throughout Europe while crafting a sound defined by many dualities: softness and strength, cinematic and club energy, vulnerability and motion.

Long favored by both fans and critics alike for his textured vocal style and confessional songwriting, the Berlin-based Austrian artist Ren Ocean has applied his talents to releases on labels such as Rose Avenue, Kitsuné, Beyond, Ministry of Sound, and more. His voice brings a raw, beating heart to Angara’s glowing production.
