Nutritious is back with an EP titled The Soft Dark, a mesmeric three-track EP landing on 21st November via Liquid Culture.
It’s also way more than just an electronic release; the whole project feels like an emotional, atmospheric voyage wherein every track-Ether, Cenote, and Humanity-acts much like elements of nature, merging into one outstanding sonic experience. Once more, Nutritious justifies his music being treated as nourishment for the soul by creating soundscapes that feel luminous, textural, and deeply connective.
Ether opens the EP, immediately uplifts with weightless chords and expansive ambiance. Nutritious describes it as the “spaciousness that harmonizes distinct things,” a shining sound-world where clarity, connection, and uplift all merge to something exquisitely transcendent. It moves like light breaking across a wide-open sky, setting the tone for the emotional ascent of the EP.
With Cenote, he delves deep into something much more fluid and dreamy. Conjured up on the back of beaming synths and soft ripples of melody, this track almost feels like a dive down deep into crystalline waters reflecting echoes from space. Nutritious carries with it a feeling of healing, stillness, and timeless wonder that permeates this tune and sends its listeners to that quiet, weightless space.
The emotional high of the journey amalgamates into the powerful combination of strings, arpeggiated synths, and voices that are treated as pure instruments in Humanity. It feels both ancient and futuristic all at once, a reflection of human connectivity, shared language, and the unbroken arc of our common story. Nutritious creates a portrait of unity, of hope, and of that universal heartbeat which binds every individual with such warmth and intention.
The Soft Dark is a reminder of why Nutritious stands apart from the crowd. His music isn’t just heard-it’s felt. As Derek’s Music Blog so famously said, calling him just a DJ is “like saying Picasso wasn’t bad with a pot of paint.” This EP carries on that legacy with grace, depth, and undeniable artistry. When November 21st arrives, this is one record you’ll want to own-because music this soulful doesn’t come around often.
