Inside Alana Hadid’s Intimate L.A. Wedding – With Barefoot Bridesmaids Gigi and Bella Stealing the Show

Love was in full bloom in Los Angeles as Alana Hadid tied the knot with Ross Williams in an intimate, emotional backyard wedding that perfectly reflected their love story and shared values.

The activist and creative director for Watermelon Pictures married the Emmy-winning television producer, who now works in the mental health sector, at her father Mohamed Hadid’s home on October 18, a date chosen to honor Ross’s parents’ wedding anniversary.

A Modern Love Story with a Twist of Fate

Alana and Ross’s love story began, as many modern romances do, on a dating app. Yet the meeting almost never happened. “I felt like I was never going to meet anyone on the app,” Alana told Vogue. “Then, no joke, I did one last swipe, and there he was.” After two weeks of chatting, they agreed to an unconventional 8 a.m. coffee date at a café in the woods in Topanga, California. “It was so beautiful. We were there basically by ourselves and talked for hours. I knew right away, that’s my husband.”

Three years later, Ross proposed during a birthday trip for Alana’s 41st, in 2024. He had planned to pop the question at dinner but changed course during a peaceful walk on a black sand beach near Big Sur. “We were all alone, and he asked me to marry him there. It was perfect and very us,” Alana recalled. The moment was spontaneous, she was even wearing sweatpants, but Ross’s choice of ring carried deep meaning. He proposed with a trillion-cut amethyst ring that once belonged to his late mother, Janet. “He knew I’d love something vintage with family history,” Alana shared.

A Backyard Ceremony Full of Heart

The couple’s wedding planning was just as intentional. They wanted a venue rich with meaning, and her father’s Los Angeles home was the natural choice. Fall was chosen for its warm, magical energy.

Festivities began with a cozy rehearsal dinner at Petit Ermitage, followed by cocktails and a dessert spread that Alana joked was “every dessert they had.” For the rehearsal, she wore a beaded Clio Peppiatt dress before changing into a two-piece Sandra Mansour set with a long train. “I definitely did a lot of looks,” she laughed. “I’m 42 and waited a long time to get married!”

The Dress of Her Dreams

For the ceremony, Alana wore a vintage Vivienne Westwood gown sourced from Tab Vintage. “When I tried it on, I immediately knew it was mine,” she said. The archival piece was larger than her size, allowing her tailor to customize it to perfection while preserving its stunning sleeves.

Her accessories carried emotional weight, her mother Mary’s amethyst earrings, a custom diamond wedding band by Sofia Kaman, and her grandmother’s ring tied to her bouquet of California wildflowers. The flowers were even stitched into her veil, creating a seamless connection between family, nature, and love.

Her bridesmaids, Bella, Gigi, and Marielle Hadid, each chose green dresses and went barefoot, embracing the natural, grounded vibe of the outdoor ceremony. They also wore Dorsey jewelry gifted by Alana. Her brother Anwar Hadid served as “male-of-honor,” walking alongside his sisters to a Palestinian song, “Ya Tal3een” by Dana Salah. Alana walked down the aisle to Led Zeppelin’s “Thank You”, symbolizing timeless love.

A Celebration of Heritage and Love

The ceremony was officiated by one of the couple’s close friends, making it deeply personal. Alana and Ross wrote their own vows and included a heartfelt moment for Ross’s daughter, now Alana’s stepdaughter.

Being Palestinian, Alana ensured her heritage was woven throughout the day, from the drinks reception featuring Mokafe espresso and matcha and Drink Palestina colas, to gift bags that included olive green keffiyehs by Kuvrd. “Especially with what’s going on in the world, it was important that people remembered there are others who are suffering,” she said.

Dinner, Dancing, and Family

The reception blended elegance and intimacy. Guests dined at tables adorned with moss and hydrangeas by Melissa Andre Design Co, in keeping with the woodland theme. The menu featured a Persian salad, grilled branzino, hanger steak, and eggplant parmigiana, with a half-chocolate, half-lemon meringue cake for dessert.

Alana and Ross shared their first dance to Adrianne Lenker’s “No Machine”, followed by a touching father-daughter dance to The Beatles’ “Yesterday”, her dad’s favorite song.

As the night continued, Alana slipped into another Sandra Mansour gown for the reception, and guests filled the dance floor to a mix of Abba and Arabic music, a perfect reflection of the couple’s joyful, diverse spirit. The official festivities wrapped up around 11:30 p.m., followed by an after-party at Petit Ermitage and a pool party the next day for family and friends.

A Celebration to Remember

Looking back, Alana described the wedding as “everything we hoped for and more.” Friends and family traveled from Tunisia, Kuwait, Paris, and Hawaii to celebrate their union. “I feel like we were surrounded by love the whole time,” she said.

From its heartfelt details to its celebration of family, culture, and authenticity, Alana Hadid’s backyard wedding was not only a reflection of her personal style, but also a reminder that the most beautiful love stories are the ones that stay true to who you are.
