Dolly Parton’s Sister Asks for Prayers as Country Legend Faces Health Setbacks and Delays Concerts

Freida Parton, the sister of country icon Dolly Parton, is urging fans everywhere to pray for her sister as she goes through recent health issues.

The tearful plea came just after Dolly revealed she would be delaying her much-awaited Las Vegas residency performances due to upcoming medical procedures.

Freida posted an emotional note on Facebook, announcing that she had prayed all night for Dolly. “Last night, I prayed all night for my sister, Dolly. Most of you know that she hasn’t been feeling her best lately,” she wrote. She went on to reiterate her complete belief in the “power of prayer,” inviting fans to be “prayer warriors” for the star. “She’s resilient, she’s loved, and with all the prayers being said for her, I know in my heart she’s gonna be just fine. Godspeed, my sissy Dolly. We all love you!

” The post was after Dolly Parton’s public statement on September 28, when she informed fans that she would have to delay her concerts at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. “I want the public and the fans to know directly from me that, unfortunately, I will need to reschedule my Las Vegas concerts coming up,” she posted on social media.

“As many of you are aware, I have been struggling with some health issues, and my doctors are informing me that I will need to have a few procedures.” Parton was scheduled to play six shows in Sin City later this year. In typical trademark style, she wisecracked, “It must be time for my 100,000-mile check-up, although it’s not the usual trip to see my plastic surgeon.” But she emphasized that what matters most to her is having her fans receive the best show.

“You pay good money to see me perform, and I want to be at my best for you,” she replied.

The “9 to 5” and “Jolene” songstress reassured that she would also continue working on her projects back home in Nashville while recovering. “While I’ll still be able to work on all of my projects from here in Nashville, I just need a little time to get show ready, as they say,” she also said. “And don’t you worry about me quittin’ the business because God hasn’t said anything about stoppin’ yet.

Dolly also mused about her religious beliefs, stating that God was just reminding her to “slow down right now” so she could get ready for more adventures yet to come. “I love you and thank you for understanding,” she assured, guaranteeing that her delayed concerts will be rescheduled for September of next year.

Earlier this month in September, Dolly skipped an appearance at Dollywood, her Tennessee theme park, because of a medical problem. In a video message to fans, the 79-year-old legend explained that she had been suffering from a kidney stone that led to an infection. “The doctor said, ‘You don’t need to be traveling right this minute, so you need a few days to get better,”‘ she said, reassuring fans that she was with them “in spirit. The artist has had a difficult year personally, too. In March, she lost her husband, Carl Thomas Dean, who died at 82 after almost six decades of marriage. Even in the midst of adversity, Dolly remains positive and resilient, supported by her faith, family, and millions of fans across the globe who continue to send prayers and love her way.
