Fortnite Downtime: Servers Restored After Major Update – Here’s What’s New

The newest update to Fortnite, Patch 34.10, brought some exciting new features with it, but if you logged in this morning and the servers were down, you weren’t imagining things!

Here’s everything you need to know about Fortnite’s downtime, servers, new game modes, and the latest Shohei Ohtani Icon Series update.

Is Fortnite back online?

Yes! Fortnite servers are officially back online after the scheduled maintenance began at 4am ET/8am UTC on March 11. Epic Games initially estimated that the game would be down until 5:30 am ET/9:30 am UTC but servers were restored at 6:35 am ET.

As with all things, the actual time of maintenance can vary, so if you are still encountering issues with connecting, refer to @FortniteStatus on X for live updates.

What’s in Patch 34.10?

Patch 34.10 updates Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2: Lawless and introduces some exciting additions:

  • The return of The Getaway limited-time mode
  • New Outlaw Midas skin
  • More weapons in the Black Market
  • Siphon returning to ranked play

This patch also includes bug fixes, performance improvements, and balancing adjustments across Battle Royale and Zero Build modes.

The Getaway LTM Is Back!

If you loved The Getaway in Chapter 1, it’s time to suit up and steal some loot again. Here’s how it works:

  • Find one of four Crystal Llamas (jewels) hidden across the map.
  • Use one of the three Getaway Vans to make your escape to victory.
  • Either take out the rival squads or extract the jewel first in order to win.

This mode is available until April 1, so do not miss your chance!

Outlaw Midas Joins the Fight

The Outlaw Midas skin has arrived, fitting right into the Chapter 6 Season 2 Western-inspired theme. His new look features gold accents and a rogue gunslinger aesthetic, perfect for running heists in The Getaway mode.

Shohei Ohtani Skins & Cup Coming Soon

Baseball’s biggest star, Shohei Ohtani, now makes his mark in Fortnite’s Icon Series. Here’s what to expect:

  • Ohtani skins hit the Item Shop on March 15.
  • The Shohei Ohtani Cup takes place on March 15, giving players the opportunity to unlock exclusive rewards.
  • Week 4 Battle Royale quests go live on March 18 and run until the end of the season.

Expected Week 4 quest challenges include:

  • Do 54 damage to opponents using The Kneecapper.
  • Eliminate 3 players from over 50+ meters away.
  • Conclude 3 matches in the Top 17.
  • Throw 17 items.
  • Slide with no interruption for 59 meters.

How to Fix Fortnite Lag Issues

To get the best performance, Epic Games would like to suggest that you update your DNS. For detailed guides on how to do so, you can head over to epicgames.com, or follow @FortniteStatus for live troubleshooting updates. Fortnite Server Status:
