Klangkarussell return after more than a decade with their long-awaited sophomore album, Petrichor, out on November 7 via their very own imprint, Bias Beach Records.
Well regarded for shaping the early sound of tropical and cinematic house, this Austrian duo crosses into a new era with a project marrying emotional depth and atmospheric storytelling before giving way to a dance-driven energy across 13 tracks. While their debut Netzwerk offered global hits and festival-ready anthems, the new LP, Petrichor, expands their sonic universe, weaving together themes of resilience, family, transformation, and self-reflection.
The album opens with Truth Begins featuring Blazey, a mesmeric slow-burning cut that swoops through arpeggios into cinematic drops and an undulating groove while it captures the turmoil inside when facing one’s truth. It’s accompanied by a dramatic music video starring Olympic gold medalist Anna Gasser. Another highlight, Ride channeled shimmering 80’s disco through a modern electronic lens: bright, carefree, and full of neon-lit momentum. Emotionally affecting collaborations abound: Cross The Border with Bloom Twins inspired by family experiences during wartime in Ukraine, and The Tide with Elmar finds haunting vocals above lush, liquid production. Sun Went Down, Sky Went Dark with GIVVEN and Senes twists melodic and Afro-house textures into a warm, bittersweet anthem designed for sunset moments.
Contributions from Blazey, Bloom Twins, GIVVEN, Oliva, Redward Martin, Elmar, Marieme, and Senes make Petrichor a bold evolution for Klangkarussell, marrying the cinematic and intimate with the euphoric in effortless precision. The duo describes the album as “a journey through our world – the highs, the struggles, the quiet moments, the big ones… about renewal, like the smell of rain after a storm.”
For more than a decade, Adrian Held and Tobias Rieser have shaped the global electronic landscape. As creative forces behind Sonnentanz (Sun Don’t Shine)-a defining tropical house anthem clocking billions of streams-they pioneered a wave of organic melodic dance music which influenced an entire generation of producers. Since founding Bias Beach Records in 2019, they’ve been fully indulging in creative control through the release of critically acclaimed singles Ghostkeeper, Home, Afterglow, Shipwreck, and their 2025 track Let Me Come To Life. These releases collectively amass over 400 million streams, further cementing them as innovative storytellers in electronic music.
Yet the influence of Klangkarussell extends far beyond the studio. The duo has electrified audiences at festivals including Lollapalooza Berlin, Ultra Miami, CRSSD San Diego, Rock Am Ring, Baum Festival, and MECA Brazil, and in 2024, they toured Europe on an 11-show run with Kygo. Now, as 2025 draws to a close, the duo is gearing up for an even bigger chapter-crafting a brand-new live act show, their first in over ten years.
The new tour dates will make their way through Los Angeles, San Francisco, Mexico City, Seattle, New York City, and Miami-all providing the ideal chance to see the Petrichor era live. Ever-changing, yet always true to their emotional and genre-defining sound, Klangkarussell continues to keep the world dancing while pushing boundaries.
