Oliver Heldens Brings The Modjo Classic ‘Lady (Hear Me Tonight)’ To Dance Floors

Oliver Heldens remixes one of the most-loved classics in all of dance music as he reworks Modjo’s “Lady (Hear Me Tonight)”, out November 21st via Heldeep Records.

The 2000 original from French house duo Modjo defined an entire era with its seamless blend of house, disco, funk, and pop to become an international anthem that still cuts through generations today. Heldens’ new version retains its unforgettable groove while updating the record with a fresh, modern production sheen and his trademark melodic clarity.

This rework is one close to Heldens’ heart: “Lady is one of my favorite songs of all time, and it’s definitely one of the records that made me fall in love with house and disco as a kid,” he says. Coming to it finally in 2024-after years away from the idea of remixing such a legendary record-Heldens does so with express purpose: to create a contemporary, timelessly effective club cut that amplifies the magic of the original without overshadowing it. The resulting track has already become a highlight in his sets and enjoys strong support across the dance music spectrum.

The big names championing this rework currently include Calvin Harris, Carl Cox, Martin Garrix, Don Diablo, AFROJACK, Nicky Romero, W&W, R3HAB, Lucas & Steve, Mike Williams, and Blasterjaxx-a surefire sign of the far-reaching appeal it holds. Heldens captures the warm nostalgia of Modjo’s classic while powering it into a new era for today’s global dancefloors.

It comes at the close of a milestone year for the Dutch producer, who this summer celebrated 10 Years of Heldeep Records with a sold-out ADE showcase featuring Tchami, Don Diablo, Chocolate Puma and Lee Foss. “Lady (Hear Me Tonight)” sees Heldens once again bridge generations of dance music in a way that cements his status as one of the genre’s most innovative and influential forces.

“Lady (Hear Me Tonight)” by Oliver Heldens is out now via Heldeep Records.
