Warzone Servers Are Down – Here’s When It’s Coming Back

Call of Duty: Warzone servers have officially gone dark, and for good reason.

As of 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET on April 2, 2025, the servers have been taken offline for the biggest reset in the game’s history. But when Warzone returns just 24 hours later, it won’t be the same battle royale players left behind – it’s coming back with the long-awaited return of Verdansk and a host of massive changes.

Yes, Verdansk is back. The original map that launched a generation of battle royale fans is making its return alongside Black Ops 6 Season 3. But this isn’t just a nostalgia trip – it’s a major reinvention. Warzone’s developers are blending the best of old-school gameplay with the advancements and arsenal of recent years. That means iconic locations like Superstore and Prison are back, but you’ll be traversing them with a revamped omni-movement system and modern loadouts.

Here’s what you need to know:

  • Servers return online: Thursday, April 3 at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET
  • New Battle Pass: Season 3 launches with a fresh BP, BlackCell tier, and themed events.
  • Free Black Ops 6 Trial: For the first time, all MP and Zombies content in BO6 is free for everyone during downtime. Players can access five new maps and one remastered map, along with the full Zombies experience.
  • The Kilo 141 is back: Fan-favorite assault rifle from Modern Warfare 2019 is unlockable for free.

The temporary shutdown is being billed as more than a patch – it’s a complete refresh. According to Activision, Season 3 is “a fusion of the classic and the cutting-edge,” incorporating throwback features fans have begged for while evolving the mechanics for modern play.

Fans were also treated to an action-packed trailer teasing what’s to come – and reactions have been overwhelmingly hyped. From social media to Reddit threads, “See you in Verdansk” is trending all over again.

This update may be Warzone’s biggest play yet to recapture the magic of its golden era. Whether you’re planning to drop hot at Hospital or run recon in Farmland, the OG vibe is back – but make no mistake, this is a new Warzone built for 2025.
