Parallelle, the French electronic duo, have unveiled their new single and music video “Searching For The Groove”, featuring saxophonist Sacks, in preparation for their eagerly anticipated new LP 11th Avenue. Out October 29 on their Lisbon label FOLDER, the album will also be released on vinyl later in the month.
“Searching For The Groove” is a whimsical, genre-hopping song that demonstrates Parallelle’s unique method of blending live instrumentation with electronic textures. Perched on syncopated drumming with references to UK 2-step, the song unfurls with falsetto croons, hearty keys, and Sacks’ saxophone, establishing a late-summer groove that encourages listeners to dance uninhibited.
“This song is about the constant pursuit of the groove of life. And what is that groove? It’s yours to define,” Parallelle explained. “For some, it’s love. For others, success. Perhaps joy, perhaps freedom. Whatever it is, it’s the rhythm that keeps you walking forward. We first met Benji (Sacks) when he rented our studio in Amsterdam and became fast friends. This track began as a studio jam and became one of our favorite tracks from the album right away. It’s a feel-good, end of summer vibe.
Their new album 11th Avenue builds on this ethos, marrying analogue production approaches with live instruments and warm vocal textures. Fans can look forward to an immersive experience bridging genres, mixing psychedelic beats, jazzy brass sections, and timeless analogue tones that sound both vintage and progressive.
Parallelle are also focusing on the visual identity of 11th Avenue. The record’s creative direction was guided by fashion icon Sarah Bassett, and visuals were photographed by acclaimed photographer Dani Bastidas. This analogue-first visual landscape is reflective of the sound of the project, with music, design, and style all converging in a cohesive vision.
To commemorate the release of the album, Parallelle will kick off a world tour, with small listening sessions, crossover DJ sets, and interactive storytelling. Extending the crossover between fashion and music, the pair has also teamed up with emerging high-end streetwear label Ciaran on a capsule collection of limited-release T-shirts, jackets, and caps. The special drop will be released during ADE (Amsterdam Dance Event) this October.
With “Searching For The Groove” finally available on all platforms, Parallelle are giving fans a sneak peek at what looks to be one of their most ambitious yet. 11th Avenue looks to record not only sound, but a whole way of life built around analogue warmth, camaraderie, and collective.
