The newest legal drama out of Hollywood between Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively just received an unexpected take from none other than the lawyer of Johnny Depp, Benjamin Chew.
Speaking on Law&Crime Sidebar, Chew described Baldoni’s legal moves as “very aggressive.”
It began with Lively accusing Baldoni of sexual harassment and running a smear campaign against her. Baldoni responded with a $400 million lawsuit against Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds. Now, Baldoni has taken things up a notch, launching a website showcasing an alleged timeline of events, text messages, and emails related to the dispute.

Chew, who represented Johnny Depp in his case against Amber Heard, called the move by Baldoni to publish these documents before any formal hearing against Blake Lively “impressive, yet unusual.” He noted that while public records are fair game, stepping into advocacy pieces could be risky.

While drawing parallels, Chew made sure to say that both cases involve reputational damage, but warned this legal battle might not have as much emotional weight for jurors as Depp vs. Heard.
