Judge Dismisses Blake Lively’s Lawsuit Against PR Exec Jed Wallace

Blake Lively just hit another major snag in her ongoing legal battle, and this time, it’s a win for PR specialist Jed Wallace.

A federal judge in New York dismissed her claims against Wallace, who she accused of helping Justin Baldoni’s team run an alleged smear campaign against her. The decision? The court doesn’t even have the right to hear the case. Talk about a legal faceplant.

The judge, Lewis Liman, ruled that Wallace and his PR firm, Street Relations, Inc., are based in Texas, not New York, so Lively can’t sue them there. “The Wallace Defendant’s motion to dismiss must be granted because the Court lacks personal jurisdiction over them,” the court documents, obtained by Page Six, stated clearly. In simple terms, Lively filed the lawsuit in the wrong state.

According to the ruling, Lively failed to show that Wallace had done anything that would allow New York courts to come after him. “The Wallace Defendants are located in Texas, and Lively has not alleged that they are responsible for any act that would subject them to jurisdiction in New York,” the judge added. Even the limited stuff that did happen in New York wasn’t tied directly to Wallace, the court said, so he’s officially out, unless she decides to take the fight to Texas or revise her complaint.

Lively had claimed that Wallace was hired by Baldoni’s PR team to “weaponize a digital army” against her, planting and promoting negative content online to damage her reputation. Wallace, for the record, has always denied this. His lawyer, Chip Babcock from Jackson Walker LLP, was quick to thank the judge for the “thoughtful and thorough opinion.” Translation: they’re celebrating this win.

This is just one piece of the tangled mess that’s unfolding between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni. Back in December 2024, Lively filed a civil rights complaint in California, accusing her It Ends With Us co-star of sexual harassment and retaliatory behavior aimed at destroying her public image. Wallace got pulled into the drama soon after, when Lively pointed fingers at him for playing a part in the alleged PR hit job.

Then in February, Wallace fired back with his own lawsuit, accusing Lively of defamation over what she said in that complaint. Her legal team didn’t hold back either, calling Wallace’s suit “transparent retaliation.” One of her attorneys even said, “Another day, another state, another nine-figure lawsuit seeking to sue Ms. Lively ‘into oblivion’ for speaking out.” So yeah, things are getting ugly.

And it’s far from over. Lively is scheduled to be deposed this Thursday by Baldoni’s legal team at her own lawyer’s office. So expect more revelations, and more drama, real soon.

For now, Wallace walks away clean from this round, and Lively’s case just lost a major pillar. Whether she’s going to regroup and refile in Texas or let this part of the legal war go, we’ll have to wait and see. But it’s clear this isn’t just another celebrity feud. It’s a legal saga that’s far from finished.
