Blake Lively’s ‘It Ends With Us’ Salary Revealed: 7-Figure Pay, Oscar Bonus and More in Unsealed Contract

A leaked copy of Blake Lively’s It Ends With Us contract emerged during her ongoing legal battle with director and co-star Justin Baldoni – showing the star was set to make more than $1.7 million for the role, along with a string of bonus payments tied to the movie’s performance and award nominations.

In accordance with confidential court documents that were unsealed on October 9, Baldoni and his lawyers filed the unsigned deal as part of their ongoing legal struggle with Lively. The 38-year-old star once accused Baldoni, 41, of sexual harassment on set – claims he strongly denies.

The May 5, 2023, contract outlined that shooting started five days later on May 10 and ran for seven weeks, the bulk of it occurring in New Jersey. Under the negotiated agreement, Lively was to be paid a flat rate of $1.75 million to play Lily Bloom in the movie adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s best-selling novel It Ends With Us.

Outside of her minimum salary, the Gossip Girl veteran negotiated profit participation on top of that, earning her 10% of the film’s gross revenues. The deal also had performance bonuses totaling hundreds of thousands of dollars. For example, Lively would have earned $250,000 every time the theatrical box office receipts of the film hit milestones of three to five times its direct cost of production – potentially adding up to $1 million in bonuses if the film did extremely well on the box office.

The contract also included award bonuses. Lively would get paid $100,000 for an Academy Award nomination and $200,000 if she were to win. For Golden Globe nomination, she would get paid $75,000 and $100,000 in case of a victory. A Screen Actors Guild Award nomination would have brought in an extra $50,000, while another $75,000 was for winning. Lively, however, did not get nominated for any of the awards for the 2024 release.

The report also described a number of comfort and lifestyle arrangements. Lively was also given approval rights on her on-set driver and was assured sole use of a “pop-out, star trailer” with luxury comforts for filming in New Jersey. The production also undertook to pay her $1,000 a week as training and meal allowances.

For any Las Vegas shooting days, Lively was not only entitled to a private jet that could hold her, her four children, an assistant, two nannies, and a security team but also negotiated an extra $1,500 for assistant fees.

The initial draft of the contract contained a binding arbitration provision requiring any dispute between the two parties to be resolved in private, outside the courts. Yet the very public legal battle between Lively and Baldoni indicates that the agreement might never have been concluded or enforced.

This news provides another twist to the bitter feud between the two celebrities. Baldoni has consistently denied Lively’s claims, alleging that she libeled him and tarnished his reputation via lies. The It Ends With Us scandal continues to attract public interest as legal documents shed more light on behind-the-scenes intrigue surrounding one of Hollywood’s most controversial productions of 2024.
